Being an entrepreneur can be extraordinarily rewarding. It can also drive you crazy. The journey is fraught with highs, lows, successes and disappointments. And one thing is for sure, you learn a lot about yourself – what you’re capable of, how you view the world, and how you deal with everything from stress to opportunity – along the way.
But few of us stop to think about the psychology of entrepreneurship. It’s the idea that while your skills and connections might be important in growing your business, ultimately the only thing that may be holding you back … is you. Or rather, your mind.
That’s where Peter Shallard comes in. He’s known as The Shrink for Entrepreneurs. Although Peter and I first met in Sydney, he’s now based in New York, working with business owners around the world. You’ll find out more about his take on success in my book Power Stories, where we talk about the kinds of stories you need to tell yourself … in order to change your life.
In the meantime, Peter just released a new video here. And I like it so much I wanted to share it with you. Enjoy.
