I receive tonnes of queries from entrepreneurs who want to write a book. With the barriers to entry being so low compared to even five years ago, it’s no wonder that savvy business owners realise that a book is a great way to build their credibility. This trend inspired my Enterprise post this week.
It seems that everyone is an author these days. The latest accessory du jourfor new and established entrepreneurs is no longer a smartphone or iPad. It’s a book. Yes, that’s right. your very own tome emblazoned with your name on the cover. A symbol that what you have to say is so good, it’s worthy of being immortalised in 128 to 224 pages with a slick cover and media campaign to go with it.
Being an author brings credibility and expert status. It also gives you a ready-made business card, lead generation tool and extended selling brochure – all in one handy package. “Have you seen my new book?” you say to a new prospect at a networking event. “Here, I just happen to have a spare one. I think you’ll find chapter six particularly useful.”
How do you write a book you can be proud of?
