Lots of my customers are working from home but have there personal and family life intruding so much on there professional one that they don't see a way out other than calling in an expert. And because I am an expert and want to be one, I try to separate kids from customers as best I can. I let my customers know I have them, because they are actually one of my biggest selling points ("she knows what she is talking about, she has 3 boys herself") but the kids get told to close the office door - from the outside!! I don't like the idea of retirement, it conjures up thoughts of being so old you can't do much, or sitting around waiting for the Grim Reaper. So, this year I am "refocusing". What does that mean? Well, I've got to that happy stage where I don't need a six figure income and I've had enough of working five days per week. I'm going to drop my workload to a quiet trickle so that I can include a couple of golf mornings, some daily exercise, which has been badly missing, and do some gardening or anything else I feel like. This will go on hopefully, for another decade at which time I will be really old and perhaps ready to return to the earth. Unlike Valerie who will work from the Yarra, I'm getting a caravan so I can cruise about Australia and work from wherever I am at the time.
