She is national director of the Australian Writers’ Centre, an organisation she founded nine years ago. It is now the leading centre for writing courses in the country and has trained more than 20,000 students. It has won the Telstra Business Awards, and been named by Dell as one of the 10 Most Innovative Small Businesses in Australia.

Valerie  is also author of Power Stories: The 8 stories you MUST tell to build an epic business (Wiley). She is passionate about the concept that you can use the power of storytelling to convert customers, build your profile and grow your market share. An accomplished journalist and business commentator, she wrote a weekly column on entrepreneurship for seven years in The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.
