I’d like to invite you to join me during the upcoming Sydney Lunar Festival from 1 to 10 February 2019.
This is the big festival that I’ve been curating with the City of Sydney over the past year and there is a lot to choose from:
- Visit the incredible art installations that will line the shores of Sydney Harbour
- Watch the adrenaline-fuelled dragon boat races at Darling Harbour
- Check out the wonderful performances throughout the city, ranging from traditional dance to hip hop.
- Eat dumplings in the attempt to break the world record for the largest number of people eating dumplings at the same time.
- And so much more!
If you’re interested I’m hosting a talk with a panel of artists who have created some of the stunning lantern installations at Circular Quay. It’s a great behind-the-scenes look at the creative process!
When: Thursday 7 February 2019 from 7.30pm to 8.30pm
Where: Customs House Library, 31 Alfred Street, Sydney
Cost: Free but you need to book your space via this site
And here’s my new podcast
Another thing that’s been keeping me busy is a new pop-up podcast: ‘New Stories, Bold Legends: Stories from Sydney Lunar Festival’ where I’m in conversation with awesome people like board director Marina Go, politician Geoff Lee, brain surgeon Dr Charlie Teo, journalist Ky Chow, diversity advocate Dai Le, startup hub founder Brad Chan, CEO of City Recital Hall Elaine Chia, some great Asian-Australian artists, historians and others. If you listen, I hope you enjoy it!
It’s also on Spotify and most podcast apps. (Just search for “New Stories Bold Legends”.)
