Begin living the life you’ve always imagined
by Valerie Khoo
Begin living the life you’ve always imagined. When I first saw that written down, it hit me like a tonne of bricks.
I realised that so many of us – myself included – spend so much of our lives wishing for a different one. There’s nothing wrong with that because chances are that you have goals or aspirations that are beyond where you are at right now.
But it’s so easy to then say:
“I’ll explore my creativity when I get that redundancy.”
“I’ll write my novel when I have a writing studio.”
“I’ll buy a house when I meet a partner.”
These sound like rational statements. But why wait? Why procrastinate and delay the joy of doing your heart’s desire when you can start living it right now?
If you want a healthy lifestyle, start living a healthy lifestyle.
If you want to have an art exhibition, create a collection of paintings so you’re ready when the opportunity arises.
If you want to write a novel, put your bum in that chair and write the novel!
You don’t need permission from anyone for any of this.
Whatever life you wish for, start living it. It may take you a few steps to get there – but start taking those steps now. You’ll get there much quicker than if you start in a few years’ time.
Begin living the life you’ve always imagined.
